Beautiful blooms delivered to your door. Win a Christmas flower arrangement!
Converted out of the old railway station in Céligny (just a few miles from Nyon), is a stylish atelier and business called “Miss Daisy” run by Rose Mensing and Yvette Donkervoort.

In their workshop, they create wonderful bouquets of flowers, which they then deliver (free!) to homes and businesses in the Nyon area, including Coppet, Versoix, and Divonne (Geneva on special request), as part of a subscription service.
As Christmas is just around the corner, this service is a great gift idea for a friend or colleague. They also organise flower workshops on a regular basis and create arrangements for events.
Rose, together with a Dutch partner originally created Miss Daisy Fresh Dutch Flowers back in 2015. When her business partner had to move abroad, she asked Yvette to become her new associate. Since then they have run “Miss Daisy” together and make it their mission to change the idea that flowers are only for special occasions.
Rose previously worked in HR and events management and Yvette for an NGO in the humanitarian field. Today they are combining creativity with their passion for flowers and are happy to work with such a “positive product”.
"Buying flowers is almost as common as buying bread”.
Rose explains: “We were both raised in the Netherlands, where it is hard to find a house without flowers. Flowers are part of daily life and of every interior. Buying flowers is almost as common as buying bread".
Fabulous, original arrangements
5,000 flowers to choose from
"In the Netherlands, you find flower stalls on many street corners and specialised shops that offer lots of choice. We work with a Dutch supplier that enables us to have the same diversity. We have more than 5,000 different flowers to choose from. Of course, every flower has a price, the rarer the flower, the higher the price, but it means that we can make arrangements to measure”, adds Yvette.
"In Switzerland, people seem to prefer flowers that are already in full bloom. However, these are often not the freshest flowers and they won’t last long after they are bought. For shops it is difficult to guarantee freshness; when flowers are not sold during the day they go back in the cooling area and brought back in the warmth of the shop the next day, which unfortunately affects their quality. Having a subscription service means we know exactly the quantity we need for our bouquets and our workshops. The flowers are purchased at the flower exchange the moment we order them, assuring their freshness. It takes 2 days from the moment that they are cut to the moment they brighten up a customer’s home or office, which means that the customer gets longer enjoyment out of the bouquet.
Delivery even when you are out!
Customers don’t need to be in when we deliver, we can work around this, either by leaving the flowers in a bucket on the front porch or in the entry hall of an apartment building. This system has worked well so far - one of the many advantages of living in Switzerland!"
Workshops to learn some tricks of the trade
For those keen to learn how to make arrangements themselves, every second Friday of the month, Rose and Yvette run workshops for groups in their atelier. Here you can learn how to make different arrangements and pick up some of the tricks and tips of the trade.
Rose says: “Even though everyone works with the same materials in these workshops, everyone’s arrangement turns out differently and customers go home at the end of it with something wonderful. We also organise workshops for private groups, work colleagues and friends in the evening upon request".
Miss Daisy’s Noël à la Gare – Friday 16 and Saturday 17th November
This year Miss Daisy will be holding an early Christmas event in their atelier in Céligny called “Noël à la Gare”. Bouquets, arrangements and/or Christmas wreaths can be ordered ahead of time to be delivered or picked up at an agreed time. There will also be Christmas presents, ornaments, vases and fresh flower bouquets to choose from on the day.
There is plenty of parking space near the atelier, a bus stop outside and the famous Buffet de la Gare restaurant opposite.
During the two-day event, there will be a raffle with the chance to win a Christmas arrangement. Names will go into a hat and Miss Daisy will draw and inform the lucky winner on Saturday evening 17th November.
