The Morges literary festival – Le Livre sur les Quais begins on Friday 1st until Sunday 3rd September. This year, the festival will host 280 French and English speaking writers and Ireland is the Guest country of honour for 2017. John Boyne, Anne Enright, Donal Ryan, Sarah Baume and other Irish authors will be present at the festival to take part in debates, to give talks, readings or be part of round table discussions. There are also literary cruises along the lake including a GWG summer cruise on the Sunday entitled “Debut Novelists on Writing and Publishing” with Paul McVeigh and Kit de Waal.
There will be other established literary stars such as Rachel Joyce and new writers, essayists, poets and translators, authors of crime fiction, travel writing and books for children at the festival. There will be a debate on Sunday 3rd entitled “Switzerland, Brexit and the new European Reality” with Diccon Bewes, Padraig Rooney and Clare O’ Dea.
The festival takes place in Morges, on the lake side and in various venues around the town.
