Update – This event below has now been cancelled on Saturday 10th November due to rain forecast. The rink will now open on Sunday 11th
There are events planned for the opening of the season – a free apéro at 11:00, various rallies during the day including a chance to watch (or try out!) the sport of Eisstock. This sport is a little different than curling, it’s a Bavarian sport similar to petanque on ice. See video below, it’s a 23 minute video but you will get a rough idea about the sport after a few minutes.
Skating high up in the hills followed by a fondue in one of St-Cergue’s cozy restaurants would be a fun way to spend a Saturday in November.

Note to newcomers – the “little red train” goes directly from Nyon straight to St-Cergue and it’s a short walk to the centre of the village from the train station. The CFF website is in English/French/Italian and German. The CFF App enables passengers to buy their ticket on their phones.
Yay! What a fabulous place to skate…will try it with my Grand-kids over the Christmas break.
