The 4th July falls on a Saturday this year and to celebrate American Independence Day there will be an American “cinema soirée” at the Capitole Cinema in Nyon. The evening will begin with a guided visit at 19:30 (with commentary) to the new art exhibition at Nyon castle. This exhibition features the work of American marquetry artist, Brooklyn-based, Las Vegas native Alison Elizabeth Taylor. You can read more about this artist here
Following a tour of the exhibition there will be an American cocktail served at the cinema followed by the screening of the classic 1987 film “Bagdad Café” (Out of Rosenheim) film. On the 4th and 5th July there will be a Stand Up Paddle competition in Crans-près Céligny called the Foolmoon SUP Classic 2015.
