On Monday 11th February 2019, work will begin near Nyon railway station to improve the public outdoor space that surrounds around it, in a town project called “Terrasses de la Gare”.
The work will last until June. The old railway tracks that are still in place (once used by the little red St Cergue train), will be lifted up and taken away. Larch decking, benches, and trees will be planted to enhance the look of the area and to make it more of a convivial space. There will be no restriction on the circulation of traffic during this construction period, however, the parking area which is currently reserved for cars, motorbikes, and bikes will be moved during this period. After the work is completed, the four car parking spaces will then be eliminated.
