August 1st is Swiss National day across the country and tomorrow you will see flags and bunting hung from balconies and windows to celebrate the occasion. Locally there is lots going, in many places when it gets dark you will see children walking in a procession carrying lit paper lanterns as part of the celebration. You can buy these lanterns in the major shops. Just put a candle inside them and the children will be ready to take part. There are celebrations arranged for Gland, St Cergue, Morges, Rolle etc. Look out for the posters in your village or town.
