This year Caribana celebrate its 20th year and it is kicking off the anniversary in style. Last night the announcement was made that the opening act on Weds (9 June) will be the British rock group Deep Purple.
The festival, set on the water’s edge down at Crans près Celigny (just outside Nyon) is one of the first of the summer festivals in the area and this year takes place from 9-13 June. There are new additions planned for the festival such as an enlargement of the beach area, more places to sit down, the removal of the “Rock the Block” bar to create more space and careful planning to ensure that one sound from stage doesn’t encroach on the others.
